The role of magnesium in pistachio Iranian Pistachio trees
Magnesium is absorbed as a magnesium ion from the soil solution and is present in the soils of arid and semi-arid regions in large quantities in the form of surface adsorption of soil particles. As a result, in these soils, we face more problems and poisoning of this element, so that its possible deficiency may occur more in sandy soils.
The critical level of magnesium in soil is 15 ppm and in pistachio leaves is 0.6% of plant dry matter. Its deficiency causes the appearance of yellow color and chlorosis between the veins and in old leaves and old plants. In case of lack of consumption of 400 kg of magnesium sulfate per hectare in Chalkud and in case of poisoning, consumption of gypsum and potassium in large quantities is recommended.
