Pistachio is one of the most delicious Iranian Pistachio nuts in the world. Pistachio in Latin (pistachio) is a bright green kernel that often looks happy and smiling. Incidentally, in our country it is called smiling pistachio and in many countries like China it is called happy pistachio. Pistachios usually smile when they come out of their bony shells. This magical fruit, in addition to its beautiful and lively appearance, is also very tasty and an energy bomb. Pistachio is a valuable nut and is consumed in large quantities all over the world. This product has always been an attractive option for export and almost all countries that have the possibility of doing pistachio horticulture projects are trying to grow seedlings of this delicious fruit in their country; An issue that gradually raised the question of the difference between Iranian pistachios and foreign pistachios in the minds of consumers.

There are many types of pistachios grown and consumed around the world that are not of equal quality. In this text, we tried to study the differences between the types of pistachios in the world, especially the difference between Iranian pistachios and foreign pistachios, and especially more specifically the differences between Iranian pistachios with American pistachios and Turkish pistachios.

The most important difference between Iranian and foreign pistachios
The most important difference between Iranian pistachios and foreign pistachios is the climatic regions of this crop!

The pistachio tree survives and grows in harsh weather conditions, even in the coldest winters and the hottest summers. At a temperature of -15 degrees Celsius on cold nights and a temperature of 45 degrees Celsius on hot days in desert areas it grows and stands. It is precisely these special climatic conditions that have made the difference between Iranian pistachios and foreign pistachios. At present, Iran is the best pistachio growing region in the world and with the production of about 470,000 tons of pistachios, it is always among the largest producers of this product. It is used in the whole food industry and the rest is consumed as raw pistachios, salted pistachios or roasted pistachios.

In 2020, despite a significant decline in agricultural products in the world, the United States with a growth of 15% was able to become the first pistachio producer in the world and introduce a larger volume of the world market with the taste of quality products. In general, what is said about the difference between Iranian pistachios and foreign pistachios (specifically the difference in taste and quality of Iranian pistachios with American pistachios) is not far from the nationalist prejudices related to the breed of this fruit. US access to new agricultural methods has led to a higher product-to-quality ratio in pistachio orchards than in Iran; But in the competition between the top type of Iranian and American pistachios, the scales usually weigh heavier with features such as better taste and more crispness of Iranian pistachios compared to the American competitor.
